Us
Anchor Staying Put Burnley is a not-for-profit home improvement agency run by Anchor Trust in partnership with Burnley Borough Council to help older and disabled homeowners who live within the borough. Anchor Staying Put Burnley can help you if you need repairs, improvements or adaptations to you property enabling you to ‘stay put’ in comfort and safety within your community. We offer confidential advise , support and assistance. We will visit you at home to discuss your needs and
help you find the right solution. Core service Should you need repairs to your home we will visit you in your own home to discuss your needs and help you find the right solution. We will help you decide exactly what work should be done and prepare drawings and specifications. We will help obtain quotations, advise on reliable contractors and oversee the whole job. As well as the technical side we will also help you deal with any disruption that might be caused or unexpected snags that arise once works is completed. A caseworker will give you help and advise on the different ways of paying for the works. It might be possible to get a Home Repair Assistance Grant from Burnley Borough Council or we can access information of many other charitable trusts, such as the British Legion who might be able to financial help with the works you need. We can also explore the possibility of doing the works privately for you, should you feel that you can afford to pay yourselves we can offer you a service that will help take the hassle about actually getting it done. Handyperson Service Small home repairs and basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs and basic plumbing and joinery work. This service no longer receives external funding to subisdise the costs to customers and as such is now being offered at a small hourly rate of £25 per hours (charged 1/2 hourly after the first hour). Advise / Signposting If staying put is not the answer for you, we will try our best to put you in touch with the right people for what you need. We can also put you in touch with the correct people with regard to benefits advise, fire safety, warm front as well as the many other agencies we work in partnership with. We can also give you advise about safety within your own home. Minor Adaptations Working with Lancashire County Councils social services department in partnership with St Vincent’s we deliver minor adaptations to clients who have been referred to us by the occupational therapy team.
